Pizza + Beer + Great Conversation
The Makings of Successful Meetup
Building a Community
The GameBench team recently hosted the first in a new monthly series of live events for local game developers in the Los Angeles area. The goal; to create a new, professional community where devs can get together and have an ongoing conversation about the state of the industry, discuss the latest trends, and dig into details with a group they can’t find anywhere else.
The first event, held on November 4th at the GameBench Los Angeles offices, was a rousing success. The group was engaged specifically around the trials and tribulations surrounding automation in mobile game testing. This small, diverse group had everyone from QA to LiveOps, representing a creators of varying sizes, fro smaller indie shops to big studios.
Highlights from the meetup included:
- First-hand insight on how to incorporate automation into daily game testing workflow, and
- The challenges Live Ops teams face trying to optimize campaigns.
We're just getting warmed up! If you are (or know someone who is) in the Los Angeles area that would be interested in participating in an engaging conversation with fellow gaming professionals, look no further than the Game Dev Happy Hour Meetup Group, hosted by GameBench.
Future Events
Each month we will host an event in our Los Angeles office with food, drinks and engaging conversations on various topics relating to mobile game development (with a little fun thrown in for good measure).
Stay tuned for a similar event series starting very soon with the GameBench Team based in our London offices.
Be sure to mark your calendars for our next event on Thursday, December 12th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. We will be taking a look back at the good, the bad, and the ugly that was 2019. We will be providing the aforementioned pizza, and beer, but we are counting on you for the great conversation.
